Heradsskolinn Hostel and travel center on Laugarvatn Lake is a freshly renovated building which maintained in its beautiful original Nordic design.
Cozy, comfortable, and elegant, this historical building is 1600 square metres in size and was designed by Iceland´s most famous architect Guðjón Samúelsson as a school in 1928. It remained a foundation for education and culture until 1991 when the school closed. Recently re-opened, they can’t wait to welcome you into their uniquely designed building.

Héraðsskólinn hostel offers a full range of accommodation options for all types of travellers. Shared accommodation is available in dorm rooms for 6 to 16 persons. Private accommodation with shared facilities are offered in family rooms for up to 6 persons. Double and single rooms are also available.

Their restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is popular for guests as well as travelers passing through and features local Icelandic cuisine. They also feature a concierge desk to assist you with booking tours, local trips and travel guides.
